Gradcracker exhibits at the Spring into Jobs Fair - 29/04/09
"Spring, exactly that! We received a warm welcome at the University of Sheffield from the staff, helpers and students. The sun even managed to shine throughout the day too.
Upon arrival we were greeted by student helpers, who were happy and ready to help us carry through all our merchandise. We were directed to our stand which we were extremely happy with, the location was great and the area was spacious and bright.
At 10.30am the students were able to access the fair and almost immediately they flocked to our stand. We were located at the rear of the hall and as there were approximately 50 exhibitors attending the fair, we expected it to take a little time for the students to filter through to us, but no, they had done their homework to find out where we were and came directly across to see us.
We were delighted to find the majority of students who visited our stand had already heard of Gradcracker. Many told us they had seen our literature displayed in and around the universities. It was great to be able to spend time with individual students to answer many of their queries and show them how Gradcracker can help them in their search for graduate programmes and work placements.
Around 1,400 students attended the fair throughout the day and approximately 150 of those chose to register on Gradcracker and they all received one of our famous Gradcracker t-shirts. The fair was a fantastic opportunity to meet students already registered and using Gradcracker as well as welcoming new engineering students to the site.
Throughout the day, my colleague Rachel managed to catch up with some of the employers advertising on Gradcracker who were also exhibiting at the fair, including Rolls-Royce, Doosan Babcock Energy, Procter & Gamble and Royal Navy.
Yet again Michelle Dexter and her colleagues from Sheffield Universities Recruitment Fairs have done a brilliant job in organising and creating an event well worth attending!
