Graduate Opportunities
Graduate Diploma in Law (full-time/part-time/S-mode)
Law conversion course for non-law graduates. Designed to build knowledge and skills that more than match a law degree, with a clear focus on preparing you for life in practice. Academic training is built around real-life examples and case studies, and you'll be given research assignments that directly reflect the way you'll work as a lawyer. A multi-media package will develop your business awareness, and you can tailor your independent research work to reflect the areas of law in which you intend to specialise, enhancing your career prospects. Students who pass our GDL are guaranteed a place on our LPC (as long as they apply within two years), and if you go on to successfully complete your LPC or BPTC at the College you'll graduate with an LL.B law degree, without the need to study or pay for additional modules.
Legal Practice Course (full-time/part-time/S-mode*)
Our LPC is rigorous and practical, equipping you with the skills you need to succeed in practice. You'll get plenty of opportunities to practice your skills through real cases in a context appropriate to your area of interest. We have the widest selection of elective subjects available and offer three different LPC routes, allowing you to specialise in your chosen field: corporate, commercial & private and legal aid. The majority of teaching is in small, student-centred groups and the course features extensive use of multi-media learning resources, including interactive i-Tutorials. And students who complete our LPC will earn credits towards our LL.M Masters degrees.
* S-mode subject to validation
Bar Professional Training Course (full-time/part-time)
Our BPTC has been designed to resemble practice as closely as possible. The course is litigation-based with a heavy emphasis on developing and honing skills. Study follows a logical, realistic process from initial instruction to final appeal and learning is based around the seven core skills and three knowledge areas stipulated by the Bar Standards Board. Most of your learning will be in small groups and you'll have plenty of opportunities to put your learning into action through: practitioner evenings, mock trials, court visits, mooting, negotiating and advocacy competitions, and our tailored pro bono programmes. And students who complete our BPTC will earn credits towards our LL.M Masters degrees.
LL.M Masters degrees
Our Masters degrees are truly professional qualifications and reflect cutting-edge approaches to legal practice. We offer a wide choice of flexible, specialist modules to suit your area of interest and enhance your expertise. This will lead to an LL.M in either Professional Legal Practice or International Legal Practice.
