HM Treasury has a vast remit, which covers public spending on everything from education to defence, health to climate change and policing to international development - as well as government policy on taxation, financial stability and macroeconomic issues By joining us, you'll be part of a policy team that's working on some of the most important economic and financial issues facing the country. Before long, you could be giving advice to ministers, which will have a direct impact in the UK and across the globe.

Graduate Opportunities

Our Policy Advisors work on a specific area of economic or financial policy. As a small department with little hierarchy, you'll find you're given responsibility very early in your career. You'll have plenty of support from your line manager and other colleagues so you don't need to worry about being thrown in at the deep end.

Your work will involve:
- researching, analysing and evaluating complex data
- responding to questions from MPs and members of the public
- writing briefing and speeches for ministers and senior managers
- negotiating with government departments and other organisations and individuals.

Our positions are all based in Central London. The starting salary for Policy Advisers is c£27k.
