Welcome to Sheffield's Summer Graduate Recruitment Online Fair

Are you interested in making contact with students and graduates at The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University for one last time this academic year?

Then you might be interested in our Summer Graduate Recruitment Online Fair. It takes place from Monday 11th June until Friday 22nd June 2012. That's two whole weeks!

And better still, if you have exhibited at one of our previous fairs (held between November 2011 - present), there is absolutely no cost involved.

If you haven't taken part in one of our fairs this year where have you been? Don't worry, you can still participate - our online package costs just £95 plus VAT.

Want to get started? You can either....

  1. complete the booking form - the link to which is here: Booking Form
    This allows you to upload new information and get going straight away.
  2. re-use your previous exhibitor profile - just email Michelle Dexter at m.l.dexter@sheffield.ac.uk and we will transfer your information over.

Not quite sure what an online fair involves? Here are some answers that may help, or use our live chat facility to ask one of your own:

What does an online fair involve?
Quite simply, it's an opportunity for you to promote any last minute vacancies, graduate schemes or work experience opportunities to a large audience of students and a new cohort of graduates.

You can use the Fair in many ways to connect with students and graduates:

exhibitors

Upload information about your organisation, contact details and a weblink.

vacancies

List your current vacancies, upload application forms, link to online application forms or ask people to send you their CV.

videos

Dust down those video clips and show people what it's really like to work in your organisation.

faq's

Activate 'Ask a Question' and you'll receive one email per day (max) listing questions that people have asked.

FAQs

Add frequently asked questions to your profile for students to view.

Video call

A daily chat will take place in the Fair chatroom where students and graduates can chat live with an organisation.

Why is the fair online?
Good question! At this time of year the majority of our students will be heading back home and would therefore find it difficult to attend in person. Running this fair online provides access to everybody, no matter where they are located and at all times of the day and night.

top

How is the fair promoted?
We will be targeting students and graduates at The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University using a variety of electronic channels: email, facebook, twitter, websites. We will also be using the Alumni departments to make contact with recent graduates.

top

How much time will it involve?
We have designed our online fair to ensure that the amount of time involved is kept to a minimum. Once your profile is set up, you're in control. We'll send you updates and students will send you application forms but we won't bombard you, you even have a turn off button!

top

Do I need to leave the office?
Our online fair means you promote yourself online...no travel expenses and no time out of the office, just carry on with your normal schedule and let the fair work for you.

top

Is there a deadline by which I need to register my organisation?
No there is no deadline. This is one of the advantages of taking part in our online Fair. You can submit your booking form at any time before and during our Fair and we'll make sure that your opportunities are listed as soon as possible. However, we would encourage any organisation to give themselves as much time as possible to publicise their opportunities.

top

What kind of opportunities can I promote?
You can use the fair to promote:

  • graduate vacancies;
  • paid placements & summer internships;
  • voluntary work;
  • opportunities for students to undertake an expedition, placement or project abroad.

Please note: We reserve the right to decline to advertise vacancies which we reasonably believe are not in the best interests of either students or graduates. In particular, we are unable to promote unpaid positions that last more than two weeks, (excluding those from registered charities and voluntary organisations and those that constitute part of a sandwich course).

top

What will I receive when I have registered to participate in the Fair?
Once you have registered for the Fair you will receive an email confirming your participation. This email will also contain a link allowing you to upload information onto the website, including your organisation profile, vacancy details and videos.

top

Can you send me the CVs of students/graduates interested in working with my organisation?
You can choose how you would like students and graduates to apply for each vacancy, either include a weblink to your online application process, upload an application form that you would like them to complete, or ask them to send their CV or application form to you by email or post.
